This study aims to analyze the use of the sima'an method as an evaluation instrument for Al-Qur'an memorization in Islamic boarding schools in Palangka Raya City. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study type. The research subjects consisted of one foundation leader, two tahfiz teachers, and three students who were selected purposively. Data were obtained through observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation, then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. The validity of the data was tested through source triangulation and technical triangulation. Research findings indicate that the sima’an method is employed as part of the Quranic memorization evaluation process, involving recitation, listening, correction, and continuous feedback. Implementation involves instructors acting as primary evaluators, while peers serve as initial listeners before the memorized material is presented to the instructor. Evaluation via sima’an serves not only to assess memorization progress but also provides a foundation for improving and maintaining the quality of the students' memorization. The function of sima’an evolves in tandem with the students' progress: it helps identify and correct errors at the initial stage, measures memorization strength at the intermediate stage, and ensures fluency and accuracy at more advanced stages of achievement.
