About the Journal

Al-Ulum (P- ISSN 1412-0534 and E-ISSN 2442-8213)  is a biannual peer-reviewed  journal published in June and December by Lembaga Penelitian & Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (LP2M) of the Institut Agama Islam Negeri (IAIN) Sultan Amai, Gorontalo - Indonesia.

Al-Ulum focuses on Islamic Studies in broad context with regards but not limited to education, jurisprudence, philosophy and thought, economics,  politics, and local wisdom.

The language used in this journal are Indonesian, English and Arabic.

Al-Ulum  is an open access journal which means that all content is freely available without charge to the user or his/her institution. Users can read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of the articles, or use them for any other lawful purpose, without asking prior permission from the publisher or the author. This is in accordance with the BOAI (Budapest Open Access Initiative) definition of open access.

With the Decree of the Director General of Higher Education No. 53/DIKTI/Kep/2013 for 2013–2018, Al-Ulum received its first accreditation in print from the Ministry of National Education. After that, Al-Ulum acquired a Sinta 2 level for 2018–2022, serving as its official online accreditation. Al-Ulum has recently received authorised online accreditation from the Ministry of Research and Higher Education of the Republic of Indonesia with a Sinta 2 level for 2022–2026 with Decree No. 225/E/KPT/2022.
