ABSTRACT
This study aims to analyze the effect of principals’ supervisory competence on the performance of elementary school teachers in Anggeraja District, Enrekang Regency. The research employed a quantitative approach with a descriptive correlational design. The population consisted of 111 teachers, and 52 teachers were selected as the sample using purposive sampling. Data were collected through a validated and reliable questionnaire and analyzed using simple linear regression with SPSS version 26. Descriptive analysis indicated that principals’ supervisory competence was categorized as good, and teacher performance was also in the good category. Regression results revealed that supervisory competence had a positive and significant effect on teacher performance (t = 5.350 > t table = 2.008; p < 0.05). The coefficient of determination (R² = 0.364) indicates that 36.4% of the variance in teacher performance is explained by principals’ supervisory competence, while the remaining 63.6% is influenced by other factors beyond the research model.
