Abstract

Islamic religious education learning is one way to shape the character of students according to Islamic teachings. In the modern era of digital development, the use of learning media such as audio-visual media is no longer common. These media provide a different learning experience because they provide an innovative, interesting and easy-to-understand impression for students. In the world of learning, the use of audiovisual media is very important. The purpose of this study was to determine the extent to which the use of audiovisual media can improve students' critical thinking skills in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) subjects at SDN Bulak Baru Jepara with a total of 20 students. This study used a descriptive qualitative method. The data collection technique used a quantitative approach "One Group pretest-posttest design". The sample population in this study was taken from 20 fifth-grade students of SDN Bulak Baru. Data collection was carried out through tests with critical thinking ability analysis instruments using audio-visual media in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning. Data analysis was carried out using statistical techniques, which include normality tests, validity tests, and t-tests. Based on the results of the analysis, it shows that the use of audio-visual media can improve students' critical thinking skills in PAI subjects with pretest results of 69.00 and posttest 82.35 ((t count 0.693>t table 0.456)), so the conclusion is that Ha is accepted so that the conclusion is that the use of audio-visual media can improve critical thinking skills of fifth-grade students of SDN Bulak Baru Jepara.
