Manuscript submitted to Al-Lisan: Jurnal Bahasa (e-Journal) must conform to the following guidelines:
Manuscript Language
Manuscript accepted is written in English. 

Manuscript and File Type

Manuscript should be written in single space (1) using Arial in size 12 for English Manuscript and Traditional Arabic in size 18 for Arabic Manuscript. Paper A4 (with 3 cm from all margins) in Microsoft Word program (.doc, .docx, or .rtf) and 3,000-6,000 words in length, excluding References.


Manuscript format

  1. Manuscript Preparation:

    • Title: Use Arial, bold, maximum 14 words.
    • Authors: List complete names without titles and include affiliations and email addresses.
    • Abstract: Provide a concise overview, structured with sections for background, aims, methods, results, and implications.
    • Keywords: Include essential words or phrases relevant to the article.
  2. Article Structure:

    • Introduction: 10% of the content, outlining background, research gap, novelty, and research question.
    • Methods: 15% of the content, detailing research design, participants, procedures, instruments, and data analysis.
    • Findings and Discussion: 70% of the content, presenting and interpreting results with visuals if needed.
    • Conclusion: 5% of the content, addressing research objectives, implications, and suggestions for future research.
    • Acknowledgements: Optional.
    • References: Follow APA 7th style, with 30-60 references, primarily from reputable journals published within the last 5-10 years.
  3. Formatting Requirements:

    • Use Arial font, 12 pt, single-spaced.
    • Each paragraph should have a 1 cm indent.
    • Ensure references are correctly cited and listed alphabetically.
  4. Citations:

    • All in-text citations must appear in the reference list and vice versa.
    • Limit self-citations and regional citations; prioritize recent, international sources.
    • Utilize reference management software, like Mendeley or Zotero, for consistency.
  5. Submission:

    • Include the following in the submission: Manuscript, Author Information, and any supplementary files.
    • Check all formatting and citation accuracy before submission.

Submission Preparation Checklist
As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off that their submissions comply with all of the following items. Submissions that do not adhere to these guidelines may be returned to authors.
- The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
- The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
- The text is single-spaced; uses an 11-point font; Times New Roman employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
- The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which are found in About the Journal.
If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.

 Peer Review Process

Every article that goes to the editorial staff will be selected through Initial Review processes by Editor in Chief. The Editor in Chief has the right to reject article that does not meet the scope of this journal. Every article will be checked for plagiarism by using Turnitin. Then, the article will be going through Double Blind Peer Review in order to check for the scientific merit and the contribution of submitted articles to English or Arabic Language Fields. The reviewers are expected to give valuable comment to improve the quality of the article submitted

After getting feedback from two reviewers, the editor will make a publication decision. The review process will take approximately 4 weeks to 8 weeks. There are 4 categories of decisions:

  1. Accepted without revision: Accepted article will be published in the current form
  2. Accepted with minor revision: The article will be published under the condition that the minor revision already revised by the author
  3. Resubmit for review: The article needs to be re-worked with major changes and the author has a chance to resubmit the article by repeating the submission process
  4. Rejected: The article is rejected and the author could not resubmit the revised version of the article to the Al-Lisan: Jurnal Bahasa (e-Journal)

All articles published in Open Access will be immediately and permanently free for everyone to read and download.
